Scottsdale AZ homes

When you consider homes in Scottsdale for sale you are abiding by the number one rule of real estate… location, location, location. Scottsdale real estate provides mountain views, desert scenes, resort style living and an overall home sweet home. Let’s talk a little bit about Scottsdale. Scottsdale covers 184.2 square miles of Arizona. “The West’s Most Western Town” has a population of 240,000. Scottsdale averages 328 days of sunshine per year. 53.5% of the land in Scottsdale is zoned Residential and 6.5% is Industrial/Commercial. The remaining 40% is undeveloped or agricultural. Scottsdale has maintained AAA ratings from S&P’s, Fitch Ratings, and Moody’s since April 2002.
Scottsdale borders Phoenix to the west and the McDowell Mountains to the east. Scottsdale has consistently rated one of the top cities to move to. Parenting Magazine ranked Scottsdale number 8 among “Best Cities for Families.” Cities are rated for health, safety, education, economy and recreation. Moreover Scottsdale was rated number 1 in the nation for safety by Parenting Magazine. CNN Money magazine ranked Scottsdale number 71 on its “100 Best Places to Live” list for 2010. Money Magazine had this to say, “Its hot, dry climate and proximity to the Sonoran Desert and McDowell Mountains make for terrific hiking; aging snowbirds flock here each winter. And its proximity to Phoenix means plenty of culture and a variety of jobs.” (B.D.,2010).

The median home price according to CNN statistics is $302,596. Compare that to the $239,391 average median home price for other cities on the list and I’d say the Scottsdale housing market is pretty solid. Yes we have our fair share foreclosures, but Scottsdale is still a highly desirable location to purchase a home. Gilbert, Arizona also made the top 100 list. Did I mention that Scottsdale has maintained AAA ratings from S&P’s, Fitch Ratings, and Moody’s since April 2002. This is one impressive city!
